As MaYEA Program Leader, I perform the following:

  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the MaYEA consortium members, which comprises 8 implementing NGOs, several private sectors, and government partners, to create employment opportunities for 1 million youth.
  • Engage with high-level government officials and policymakers to seek buy-in support of implementation, revision, and enforcement of agriculture-related policies relevant to youth employment
  • Create innovation platforms between private sectors, NGOs, NARES, government, and youth groups.
  • Coordinate official communications between the consortium members and the relevant federal government offices.
  • Lead the MaYEA program team in regular program progress review and planning meetings.
  • Establish strong linkages and communication channels with high-level ministerial delegates on program actions and outputs.
