As Head of Humanities, these are my responsibilities:

• Teaching Geography IGCSE and IBDP, Teaching IGCSE Global Perspectives.
• Leading strategic direction and daily management of the Humanities faculty (Geography, Global Perspectives/Politics, History, Social Studies and ESS).
• Coordinating curriculum planning, teaching quality, assessment policies, and resource allocation across IGCSE and IBDP programmes.
• Chairing faculty meetings, overseeing departmental budgets, and fostering cross-curricular collaboration.

As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, these are my responsibilities:

• Overseeing safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring student safety and compliance with Ethiopian Ministry of Education standards.
• Training and guiding staff on safeguarding practices, delivering both face-to-face and online training, while monitoring concerns raised via MYCONCERN .
• Leading safeguarding meetings, coordinating referrals to external agencies, and collaborating with social services, police, and child protection teams to support vulnerable students.
• Embedding safeguarding awareness across the curriculum, fostering a culture of openness and student well-being.

• Designed and implemented a carefully thought-out Geography/Global Perspectives Curriculum for grades 7-13.

● Assessed the needs of students and modifying teaching style and lesson plans to accommodate different learning needs.

● Served as student advisor for year 9,10 and 11 offering academic, social, and emotional support.

● Fostered a classroom environment conducive to interactive learning, where the ideas of students were valued and respected.

● Prepared students for standardized tests, resulting in increasing average test scores each year.
