Summary

Eyueil Abate is an Assistant Professor at Kotebe University of Education. For the last 18+ years, he has been teaching students from primary to university level. He has received his Ph.D. from Addis Ababa University in Curriculum Design and Development with a special emphasis on refugee education. He has rich experience in research and publication on issues related to refugee education, general education, education for migrant children, curriculum design and development, and emergency education. In this regard, he has published his works in reputable journals and in monograph form. He has a wide range of experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research. He has extensive experience in software-assisted data analysis for qualitative and quantitative research. He has also a wide experience in the evaluation of projects. One similar recent activity is He engaged in developing an Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Strategy for Education in Emergencies in Ethiopia. Additionally, He has an advanced experience in organizing and providing training for practitioners and stakeholders in the education sector. In the different research and project evaluation assignments in which he participated, he gained a wealth of experience in planning field work. Currently, he is engaging in a research project entitled “Childhood and Migration” initiated by Gothenburg University. He is the regional director of the Global Childhood Network. He is a member of the Inclusive Education Task Team in the INEE and he is certified with the minimum standards in Education in Emergency. He is also certified in child protection by UNICEF. Currently, he is serving as a a country focal point for INEE. His research interests are issues related to migration and childhood; Refugee and refugee education; curriculum; Higher education; and Teacher education.
