Summary

I am a motivated and passionate humanitarian and development worker with over 18 years of excellent experience driving programme implementation and managing food security (General food distribution- inkind & cash based transfers), livelihood, resilience/early recovery, nutrition, emergency response, public health, maternal, newborn and child health programmes across conflict and non conflict affected regions of Northern Nigeria and Ethiopia. I have vast experience managing General Food Assistance in emergency context where I provide overall leadership for the implementation of Inkind & cash-based transfers. I have demonstrated consistency in reaching over 90% of planned beneficiary target (850,000 beneficiaries) effectively for the past 6 years. I periodically provide strategic programme implementation support and advice to WFP country office leadership and other strategic partners/donors. I lead the donor focus communication strategy at the field office which has resulted in overall increase in funds received by Nigeria country office for emergency response. I have been leading the crisis response component of WFPs intervention across Yobe state since 2016. As a Programme Policy Officer (Head of Operations) with WFP Damaturu- Nigeria I have supported in planning and providing food assistance to internally displaced population and vulnerable host community, I ensure distribution plans are updated and approved in a timely manner to guide distribution planning with programme colleagues, supply chain colleagues and cooperating partners. I also ensure that WFPs social registry database (SCOPE) is regularly updated with information on all targeted vulnerable persons. I have been fully involved in managing the cash-based transfer component of WFPs general food assistance where I lead processes ensuring that beneficiaries wallets are credited as planned. Over the years I have been involved in feasibility assessments that have helped us adapt different modalities in different locations due to changing security, access, and economic context. I have been involved in engagements with state, local and community stakeholders, retailers, financial service providers and even transporters ensuring that our actions align with our goal of achieving zero hunger. I lead contingency planning ensuring that food gaps are avoided when sudden emergencies/displacement occur. I manage distribution report preparation, analysis, and dissemination to government. I have been actively involved in resource-based planning, caseload realignments, food ration readjustments in line with resource availability. I currently provide support to the Ethiopia assuarance project as a Programme Policy Officer (Assurance project coordinator) where I ensure persons displaced by the internal conflict in Ethiopia and from Somalia, Erithrea and Sudan are adequately provided with resources to meet there daily food needs. I currently have an open work permit to work in Canada.
